This has become a major limitation for our publication. Now, all distributed stories need to be behind Medium’s paywall.
Problem is, as a publication, we’ve decided not to implement a paywall. We are focused on growth — not just within the Medium ecosystem, but outside it too.
Some readers have become frustrated by the paywall, and so, we’ve avoided it. But now, none of our work can be recommended/curated without it.
Unfortunately, the only recourse seems to be to raise a support ticket — but what we’re looking for is to be able to provide feedback to the Medium product team.
The paywall — and the way it has been implemented — is slowly strangling our publication. It is driving us towards investing in other solutions, to enable us to eventually move away from Medium entirely. Surely we are not alone in this.
Please consider this feedback and, if possible, engage with us directly. We are struggling under this increasingly restrictive system, which is raising the walls higher on Medium’s walled garden.
