Thanks for your kind words, Doug. I think we share a keen interest in this area - it's why I really love your pieces on the Metaverse.

It's easy to get caught up in what you're seeing on the screen without remembering that you're still fundamentally viewing images on a 2D screen and you're still manipulating a character via buttons and analogue sticks.

It's also why I never understood why people were so cynical about Wii Remote, Kinect, etc...

Yes, you can argue all day about whether or not those devices reached their potential or lived up to their full promise. But I would hate to think that industrial designers and game designers just stop thinking about physical input methods and focus only on improving graphics.
