I must admit, the animation and technical problems were the least of my concerns with this game.

I wanted to love Andromeda. But the whole project felt highly derivative. Far from exploring new territory, it seemed to me to be a substantial regression - it was a faint echo of the original trilogy. A shiver without a spine.

The fundamental problems with Andromeda were never going to be fixable by a patch, in other words. The entire game was based on a cool initial concept, but I think the final experience never really delivered on its promise. It followed the basic formula of the original trilogy but didn't have anywhere near the fundamental creativity to make it interesting.

Having said that, I am absolutely overjoyed that there are folks who really love it. There are aspects to it that I like, and I think they should be celebrated. I know the dev team went through hell getting this game to market, and it's a shame things worked out the way they did.
